JuniperSlate does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information.
JuniperSlate is a visual knot-tying guide: twenty knots across boating, climbing, camping, fishing and everyday cord, each drawn stage by stage. The pages that follow describe, in plain language, what the app does and does not do with the things you type into it.
None. There is no sign-up, no login and no email capture, and no identifier of any kind is generated or transmitted.
For the app to work, the following is kept in the operating system's local storage, on your phone, and nowhere else:
None of it is uploaded. Uninstalling the app removes every byte.
JuniperSlate requests no runtime permissions. Its Android manifest declares none at all, not even internet access, and its iOS configuration contains no usage-description keys.
The app is fully offline. The whole knot library is built into the app, so there are no servers to contact, no content downloads and no remote configuration.
No analytics, advertising, attribution, crash-reporting or cloud services are integrated. When you tap Share on the Profile screen, the operating system's share sheet receives a short line summarising your progress, and the app you pick then applies its own privacy policy. Nothing is shared unless you tap Share and choose a destination.
JuniperSlate is suitable for all ages and collects nothing, so it holds no data that could identify a child and raises no obligations under COPPA or the GDPR provisions on children's data. Knots are used in activities with real physical risk: children should practise under adult supervision, and climbing and rescue knots should be learned from a qualified instructor.
Everything the app records is visible inside it, on the Progress, Profile and knot-detail screens. You can change your name and preferences or un-mark a learned knot at any time, and uninstalling JuniperSlate permanently erases all of its local storage. There is no server-side copy to request deletion of.
If anything in this policy changes, the date at the top of the page will be revised, and material changes will appear in the app's release notes.
