# HazelLog — Privacy

updated:2026-10-02 scope:on-device only tldr:HazelLog does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information. contact:[email protected]

// HazelLog is a loan and mortgage payoff planner that keeps your balances, amortization schedules and payment log entirely on your own device.

[01] Information collected // inputs

None. There is no account, no sign-in and no server for the app to send anything to. Nothing you type into HazelLog leaves your device unless you send it yourself through your phone's share sheet.

[02] Local storage // on-device

Kept in OS-level local storage on your device, never uploaded:

  • Loans — name, kind, original amount, current balance, APR, term, scheduled instalment, recurring extra payment, start date and the colour you assign to each debt.
  • Payments — each entry you log: the loan, the date, the amount, the interest/principal split HazelLog calculates, and your optional note.
  • Milestones — which payoff milestones you have reached and when.
  • Profile — the display name and avatar you pick. A local label only; never verified or linked to an identity.
  • Preferences — currency symbol, default payoff strategy, spare monthly budget, forecast horizon and display toggles.

Uninstalling the app deletes every byte.

[03] Permissions // runtime

HazelLog requests no runtime permissions: no camera, microphone, location, contacts, photos or notifications. The Android manifest declares android.permission.INTERNET, inherited from the Flutter project template; the app contains no networking code and never uses it.

[04] Network // egress

HazelLog is fully offline. There are no API calls, telemetry, remote configuration, advertising requests or crash-report uploads. The app works the same in airplane mode.

[05] Third parties // vendors

No analytics, advertising, attribution or crash-reporting SDKs are integrated. The app uses open-source Flutter packages for the local database (sqflite), charts (fl_chart), state and UI, none of which transmit data. When you tap Share, the operating system's share sheet opens with a short text you can read first: on the planner it lists your payoff ordering, the extra amount per month, the projected debt-free month and the interest saved; on the profile it lists progress counts. Individual loan balances are never included. Once you choose a destination, that app's privacy policy applies.

[06] Children // coppa/gdpr-k

HazelLog is a personal-finance tool meant for adults managing their own debts. It collects no personal information from anyone, of any age, so it raises no obligations under COPPA or the GDPR provisions on children's data.

[07] Your rights // you

Your data is already in your hands. You can edit or delete any loan or payment inside the app at any time, and uninstalling HazelLog permanently removes its private storage, including the whole database. There is nothing for us to export, correct or erase, because we never receive anything.

[08] Changes // changelog

If this policy changes, the updated field at the top of this page will be revised. Material changes are also noted in the app's release notes.
